I Need ME To Do Better

Well, hello there friends. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Valentine’s Day to you too! I have to say all of those salutations because it has been THAT long since my last post. I am seriously failing at life here. Ha! Not really. I’ve just been really, really, really unnecessarily busy. I barely had time to breathe. It’s not that I don’t like blogging. I just couldn’t get a couple of hours together to focus long enough to put my thoughts on paper or the computer. I guess I forgot why I was blogging to start. Come to think of it….did I ever even say? I think so, but I’ve slept and drank since then.

Anywho…the fact of the matter is that I started this blog. It just wouldn’t be in my character to begin something now and not finish. Bottom line—Imma need Vicky D to do better.

I’ve often learned that I do better when someone else holds me accountable. So, here’s a quick list of things you can look forward to reading about here pretty soon.

  • September 17, 2010
  • White Rock Half Marathon
  • The Holidays
  • BIG Announcement
  • The Boot & The Alternative
  • New style, New Me!
  • And of course, more RECIPES, RECIPES, RECIPES (after all, that was the point of this blog anyways)

You won’t see them posted in the order written above, or maybe you will, but you can definitely count on seeing more from Vicky D’s Delights in 2012. Something, related to the “BIG Announcement” made me question my writing abilities. I’ve been writing my entire life. I even majored in the craft in college. I was a little bit insulted by someone’s evaluation of my writing. Then, I wondered if it was even a tiny bit true. EEK! I need to do better. Maybe that should be the theme of this year, Imma need “me” to do better. Yes, that’s one of those things bougie black girls say, but there is some validity in the statement. Sometimes, you just need to do better. Why?? Because life’s too short to be slacking off. Life’s too short to put things off until the last minute. Life’s just too darn short.

Gone are the days of saying there’s just not enough time in the day. The amount of time we’re given never increases, only decreases with each passing day. No more excuses. Time to just do better.

Are you with me?

Ta Ta for now,

Vicky D
